1930-talets Cocktails.


Jag har letat efter Cocktails som var vanliga på 1930-talet. Men det har varit lite knepigt. Till slut fann jag denna artikeln. 


The Ginger Rogers 

Destined to become a modern classic, this ginger cocktail from Marcovaldo Dionysos is perfectly refreshing.
10-12 fresh mint leaves
2 oz. London dry gin
¾ oz. fresh lemon juice
¾ oz. ginger syrup
2 oz. ginger ale
Tools: muddler, barspoon
Glass: highball
Garnish: mint sprig
Muddle the mint in a glass, then pour in the remaining ingredients, add ice, stir and garnish.

Greta Garbo Cocktail från Ask Sarah

Ingredients

  • 60 ml light rum
  • Splash of maraschino liqueur
  • Splash of lime juice
  • Splash of patsis (anise liqueur)
  • Pinch of sugar
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Shake liquid ingredients and sugar with ice cubes in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and ENJOY the weekend!!!!!

The Jean Harlow

The Jean Harlow is a simple and sweet rum martini.

2 oz. light rum
2 oz. sweet vermouth
lemon peel for garnish

Add the rum and vermouth to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon peel.


The Mae West

The former actress, playwright and screenwriter was not only a sex symbol but one of the more controversial movie stars of her day. Try this brandy-based cocktail created in her honor.
Ingredients
  • Yolk of 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon superfine sugar
  • 3 ounces brandy
  • Cayenne pepper

Directions
  1. Pre-chill a martini glass by putting in the freezer for 5 minutes to chill.
  2. Place the egg, sugar, and brandy into a cocktail shaker and fill with ice.
  3. Shake the mixture vigorously for 35 seconds and then strain into the prepared glass.
  4. Garnish with a dusting of Cayenne pepper and serve immediately.



The Coco Chanel chocktail

It features Lillet, Bergamot, and Champagne, and includes a Chanel No. 5-infused spearmint garnish.

To make the crushed ice, Betony's general manager Eamon Rockey recommends you fold ice cubes into a clean kitchen towel that's been rinsed with water and wrung out. Then, place the towel on a hard surface like a heavy cutting board and smash it firmly with a small sauté pan.
Ingredients
2 oz. Lillet Blanc
3/4 oz. lemon juice
1/2 oz. simple syrup
1 lemon peel
2 dashes rosewater
Instructions
Shake all above ingredients with one cube of ice and pour into chilled rocks glass. Fill glass with pink Champagne and add more crushed ice to form a mound on the top of the cocktail. Garnish with a bunch of mint that has been lightly scented with Chanel No. 5 (Betony uses a small roll-on applicator to scent it). Sip through a straw.
